The Fool

The Fool #0 or #22-Ruled by Uranus - AIR ELEMENT

Uranus is the planet of rebellion, freedom and independence.  Uranus looks to the future.  The Fool is the "Leap of Faith", the Dreamer and carries a sense of freedom and new beginnings.   Both the planet Uranus and The Fool can tend to have some eccentric energies about them.  The Fool speaks of jumping off the cliff into a new adventure.

The herbs of Uranus each carry an energy to help to facilitate a highly energetic mental state.  Karen Harrison states in her book The Herbal Alchemist's Handbook that the herbs of Uranus help to govern the electrical flow of nervous energy within the body.

Allspice, Chicory, Clove, Coffee, Elemi, Guarana, Mahuang.

Directions to create a Uranus Oil.

Choose 2 to 6 herbs to use in your potion, one essential oil and one stone.  Usually, 1 tablespoon of each herb will work depending on how many herbs you have.  Combine all ingredients into a jar and cover with the carrier oil of your choice.  Let sit for 2 to 3 weeks shaking and mixing often.  Strain and pour into a bottle of your choice.  You can dress candles with your blend or place on magical tools as well as place upon your skin.  Be sure to put your intention into the blend.  Always check precautions on essential oils.

Bergamot Mint, Birch, Catnip, Cedarwood, Dill, Eucalyptus, Fir, Lavender, Lemongrass, Marjoram, Parsley, Peppermint, Oregano, Rosemary, Sage, Spearmint, are a few Air elemental oils to choose from.

The Magician

The Magician #1- Ruled by Mercury- Earth and Air Element

Mercury is fast moving energy.  Mercury relates to communication of all kinds and messages as well as short distance travel.   The Magician requires the power of communication to create upon the Earth.  You think of how the Magician channels from above to create below so the skill of clear and concise communication is a key tool for the Magician.  When working with the energy of The Magician, creating an Oil of Mercury could help one to speak precisely and clearly as well as to add magical intention into what one communicates to self as well as the world.  Also since Mercury is fast moving, calling in the energy of creating and manifesting with speed can be an intention of the blend.

Herbs of the Planet Mercury

Since Mercury governs both the nervous and respiratory system it is involved with conscious and mental focus, so the herbs that relate to Mercury are often gentle yet stimulating.  They can excite the nervous system through taste and smell as well as to help to heal the respiratory system.  Mercurial herbs bring in clarity and focus and open up the mind and lungs for a fresh breath.

The High Priestess

The High Priestess #2- Ruled by The Moon- Water Element

The High Priestess asks you to trust your intuition, to listen to the voice within and to trust in self.   The High Priestess knows all the mysteries and secrets of the Universe, but you must be open to hear the voice within.   The Moon's energy is that of the dark, the unknown, the mysterious and intuition.  The Moon asks you to trust in your gut and you will find the way.  Although you walk through the dark you are guided by the hounds on the card and your internal voice will lead the way if you are open to listening.
